Moon X Taste-Off

IMG_3097.JPG

This week, I tasted two wines from the same winery side-by-side. Moon X is another wine brand owned by Trader Joes. I tried the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (red label) and 2018 Black Pinot Noir (white label). They are both from California, like most Trader Joes wines.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (red label) is deep purple and smells fruity. It smells like raspberry and tastes like ripe red fruit and vanilla.

The 2018 Black Pinot Noir (white label) is the exact same deep purple color, so if you taste side-by-side, put them in different shaped glasses so you can tell them apart. The Pinot Noir is much more savory but lighter in body.

Overall, I prefer the Cabernet Sauvignon because of its fruitiness. Have you tasted these? Which do you prefer?
