What do you know about sake?

Iā€™m just beginning to learn about this Japanese rice wine. The process is similar to wine. Rice and water are fermented until the starch turns to alcohol. This small 300mL bottle is available at Texas grocery stores because it is only 15% ABV!

Sho Chiku Bai is made in Berkeley, California. This bottle is considered Junmai Ginjo-shu, which means it is high quality and made of only rice and water with no added distilled alcohol. Because it is high quality, it can be enjoyed chilled. It smells like dried cherries. It tastes light, floral and dry but has a long finish. Sake is traditionally served in ceremonies and celebrations!
