Elliott Family Wines Skin Contact Viognier

Elliot.JPG

Elliott Family Wines 100% skin contact Viognier is from Nogalero Estate Vineyard in the Texas High Plains. This wine fermented for 5 days on the wine skins and then aged 7 months in natural French oak. “Amber wine” originated in the Republic of Georgia where wine makers macerate the grape juice with its white grape skins. It tastes bolder than white wine.

This orange wine is dry and tropical. It tastes like a vacation with hints of mango and pineapple. It is low acid with a slight tannin from the skin contact. It is my favorite Texas wine so far! Find it at the Austin Winery.
